So sad to read that, after 2+ decades, and serving over 1.3 million gyros, our favorite Greek fast casual restaurant has closed. Simply Greek was the best of the best. Your pitas perfection, your tzatziki always the right amount of garlic, and your lamb and beef always seasoned and spiced to perfection. I hope they're able to reopen at a new location in the future.

I am grieving!!! Showed up tonight to get my gyro fix and the sign on the door says they had their last night in business on Tuesday, November 7 due to inability to renegotiate lease. I missed it by 1 night. Such a neighborhood spot!!!

I've been here a few times, it' s a no frills, decent friendly place. Every time I have gotten a gyro, but today I was craving a burger, but not like a big gourmet burger where I have to sit down and wait for waitstaff and pay $20 because it comes with fries. I remembered noticing this place had burgers and I was curious. Well, I just want to say, the Greek Burger at this place is a beautiful burger. It has a very nice sesame bun, a perfectly decent patty which is then topped with a solid slice of feta and then a thick round of grilled red onion. It is not a great burger if you are on your phone--you're going to have burger phone--but other than that, it's really worth a try.

I've lived in the neighborhood for eight years and Simply Greek is one of my favorite spots. The prices are outstanding for Oakland, the food is great (the tzatziki is phenomenal), and the folks at the counter are super friendly and quick. It's not the kind of spot where you'd go for ambiance, but if you want some solid falafel and gyros, you've come to the right place.

This place has one of, if not my favorite, gyros in town. It's simply done but well executed. The meat has good flavor and the ratio of pita to meat, is very good. The food is also extremely reasonably priced, especially for the Bay Area. The ambiance is casual, with counter service and just a few tables inside so I usually get take out. My husband and I like the garlic feta fries to accompany our beef/lamb gyros which is plenty of food. The veggies sampler which has dips, dolmas and falafel is also super solid! All in all, everything tastes the way I want it to.

Great food in the service was fantastic but I don't understand why the owner of this place can't seem to change his online menu that's available through yelp to reflect accurate pricing prices for euros for instance, were almost $10 versus the $6.75 presented in their menu. One could be obstinate and hold them to the price after all it's published and it's not as if they should be able to get away with publishing one online price to bring people in the door and then bait and switch them with a higher price.

Simply Greek has been a staple on this retail strip for quite some time. Over the years, it hasn't changed a bit. Same quantity. And same quality. PRO-TIP: It can take 10-15 minutes to get an order out, so call ahead. The menu is on the website. On my last visit I ordered the lamb gyro for takout. It is not a generous helping of meat; I'd describe it as moderate in quantity. The white sauce is delicious - some sort of Greek variation on ranch. Love the onions and spices. We also ordered some fries. It was a mistake to take them home to eat because they were soggy by the time we got home. PRO-TIP: Only order the fries if you are going to eat them on the spot. Don't order fries for take-out. They get soggy quickly. Parking is always a challenge on this retail strip. If you are willing to walk a bit, you will always find a space.

Well after years of just driving by I finally stopped by and tried the offerings and it was yummy ! Price was on point but the can soda was $3 dollars so bring your own lol. Got the Gyro and it was full of meat and freshly made and satisfying. The lady at the counter is so nice and very pleasing to talk to. Will visit more often for sure.

Love the food, best Gyros around! Love the rice, taziki, Feisty Feta & Pita. Just wish they open on Pleasanton again!
